Directed by Michael Formica and made with the patronage of the Municipality of Acqualagna, as well as the contribution of numerous local companies, the film recounts the key stages of the fair: from the first editions in the 1960s, when truffles were still a treasure known and appreciated by few, to today’s major international event, capable of attracting thousands of visitors and chefs every year, industry players and enthusiasts from all over Europe.
Through a precious interweaving of archival images, testimonies, and interviews, the documentary offers an authentic and profound look at the unbreakable bond between Acqualagna, its territory, and its community. «Recounting sixty years of the fair means recounting the growth of a community – explains director Michael Formica – a community that has transformed a gift of nature into a cultural and identity symbol recognized throughout the world».
The work aims not only as a tool for historical memory, but also as a powerful means of tourism promotion, capable of enhancing truffles alongside the landscapes that preserve them: hills, woods, traditions, and knowledge passed down over time, which constitute the beating heart of this area.
«It is a tribute to Acqualagna and its people – concludes the director – because sixty years of the fair represent not only a milestone, but a living testimony to a collective passion that continues to renew itself, year after year». The documentary is available on YouTube.
